Other People’s Bodies
A new film by Alan Brown
As a queer filmmaker, I am committed to creating original and complex queer characters and stories for the screen. Never has this felt more urgent, as anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation sweeps across the country, threatening our health, safety and rights.
So I'm thrilled to share the news that my new feature film, Other People’s Bodies, a queer, diverse and inclusive reimagining of the French cult classic La Piscine, in which four former friends and lovers reunite on a hot summer weekend, reigniting long-simmering attractions, passions, and regrets, had its World Premiere at NewFest in NYC in October 2025, and is now available on multiple streaming platforms.
Based on my original screenplay, and cast by Stephanie Holbrook (our fourth film together), Other People’s Bodies stars McKinley Belcher III, Jasai Chase-Owens, Annie Parisse, A.J. Shively, Adam Jepsen, and Julienne Hanzelka Kim. My longtime cinematographers Derek McKane and William Rexer shot the film ; and Phillip Vernon came onboard to edit. The gorgeous score is by Nicholas Wright (Superheroes, Private Romeo, and Five Dances). And my dear friend and longtime producer, Agathe David-Weill (also our fourth film together) joined forces with producer Jacob Bittens.
OTHER PEOPLE’S BODIES is now streaming on multiple platforms, including Amazon Prime OPB on Prime , APPLE TV OPB on Apple TV
and Fandango OPB on Fandango.
A DVD release, with bonus content, will be released later in 2026. Stay tuned!!
